Dart Rules
Dart is a pub game that was developed in the taverns of England. It requires the players to throw pointed darts in the direction of a dartboard (which is usually circular in shape and serves as the target in this target sport) hung on the wall at some distance. Darts was recognized as a specified sport by England. Since then it has been played in national and international tournaments such as commonwealth games. By the acceptance of darts as an official sport a special organization was established. This organization was named as British Darts Organization and then its name was changed to World Darts Federation. This organization mapped out the official dart rules and dart regulations. Later this organization was transformed into Professional Darts Corporation [PDC]. The organization was responsible for holding out tournament throughout the world. These organizations are also responsible for mapping out and establishing darts rules and regulations. These rules serve as a standard that is to be followed in international darts events. In the absence of such firm standard rules holding contests may become very chaotic as people coming from different area may be following different rules to play the same game.
Darts rules and regulations are a standard throughout the world. In every tournament no matter on what level it is being held, the dart regulations and official darts rules must be followed. Dart regulations mean the standard height and distance of the dartboard, standard size of the dart board etc are kept under strict check. According to darts regulations the dartboard is hung so as the ‘bull’s eye’ is at a height of 5 feet 8 inches from the ground, the eye level of a 6 feet tall person. Darts regulations also state that the ‘Oche’, the line behind which the dart throwing player must stand, must be 7 feet 91/4 inches or 2.37 meters from the wall. About the standard size of the dart board the dart rules state that a regulated dart board is 18 inches in diameter and must be divided in 22 sections. Each section is lined with a metal wire. The digits that indicate the scoring sections of a dartboard are also indicated by a wire on a regulated tournament board.

Rules of darts are a bit different for every different game of dart. Although rules for dart remain the same for the official matches etc. for example baseball darts rules are different from the official rules. But still even though baseball dart rules are different it’s still a game of darts. Official rules state in detail how the points are awarded. To become a pro darts player all these rules must be known by the competing player.
Dart games rules also state the scenarios where points are not awarded such a if a dart falls down after hitting the dart board no points are awarded, for points to be awarded the dart has to be attached to the dart board. Another example is if a player is standing before the oche. That hit will not be counted. Also no points will be added to the score if the dart hits the dart board on the area outside the last circle.
Darts rules regulations are more strictly followed in tournaments and matches. Steel darts are used by professional dart players. Regulations for steel darts games are stricter because when electronic boards and soft tip darts are used then scored are calculated by the computer. When steel darts are used and a plain dart board is used, then point calculation might be tricky. Nonetheless dart game rules remain a standard for every official game of darts played.
